PERIOD PROTECTION

Okay, so you know about puberty and periods, right?
But what does a girl wear? Even with a closet full of
options, finding just the right style and fit can be tricky.

So, here's our handy guide to the latest fashion.

Pads - The smallest of the bunch are called panty-liners, and that's
exactly what they do. You stick these absorbent napkin-like things in the
crotch of your undies. They also come in heavy-duty, mega-thick sizes. Some
of them feel like diapers, but don't worry there are also thinner versions that are
just as absorbent. And, there are versions that even come with wings that wrap
around to protect your panties.

You know how plaid and polk-a-dots don't really go together? Well there are certain things pads
don't go with either. Take swim suits for example. If you get wet with a pad in your suit, it'll do it's job and
absorb half the pool. Pads don't mix with light pants either. If they're sheer enough to see your underwear
through, then they're sheer enough to see your pad, too.

Tampons - These cotton torpedo-like things are worn inside your vagina. They come in either plastic or cardboard applicators that act sort of like rocket launchers. You just aim, insert, and fire. Some tampons even come without applicators. But, make sure to read and follow label directions carefully, and remember that it may take some practice.
Just like pads, tampons come in different sizes. There are super-duper thick ones and skinny-mini little ones.

Tampons can be worn with just about anything, even a little panty-liner for extra protection. You can wear white pants without worries, slim-cut jeans, micro-minis and even swim suits.
